Pittsburgh Men's Wrestling topped Navy Men's Wrestling 35-3 in Pittsburgh, PA on November 2, 2024. The Panthers piled up bonus points throughout the dual to secure a lopsided victory on their home mat.

Four bonus-point wins were the deciding factor. At 125 pounds, Nick Babin pinned Nick Treaster for a six-point swing. Vincent Santaniello followed with a 17-1 technical fall over Hunter Heflin at 133 pounds, worth five team points. Reece Heller delivered a major decision, beating Zyan Hall 11-2 at 184 pounds for four points, and heavyweight Dayton Pitzer closed out the key outcomes with a 15-0 technical fall over Alistair Larson for five more points.

Those four results accounted for 20 of Pittsburgh’s 35 team points and created the separation that Navy could not overcome. The combination of a pin, two technical falls, and a major decision forced a wide gap on the scoreboard and left Navy limited to just three team points for the night.

Pittsburgh’s ability to secure bonus outcomes across multiple weight classes was the clear turning point in the dual, turning individual dominant performances into a commanding team margin. Navy will have to find more offensive production to challenge a Panthers lineup capable of finishing matches emphatically.
