Stanford @ Duke Recap

Stanford Men's Wrestling Team defeated Duke Men's Wrestling 37-12 at Duke University in Durham, N.C., on February 16, 2025. The Cardinal piled up bonus points across the lineup, turning what could have been a close dual into a comfortable margin.

The difference came from Stanford’s barrage of bonus-point victories. Tyler Knox dominated at 133 with a 17-0 technical fall, and Nikolas Stemmet closed at 197 with a 20-4 technical fall, each worth five team points. Two pins in the upper weights made a big impact as well: Jaden Abas at 149 and Jack Consiglio at 157 both recorded falls for six team points apiece, fueling the gap on the scoreboard.

Stanford also collected multiple major decisions, including Jason Miranda’s 15-2 major at 141 and Cole Han-Lindemyer’s 11-2 major at 184, which kept pressure on Duke throughout the dual. Duke’s most important result came at 174, where Gaetano Console answered with a fall over Lars Michaelson, the lone bonus for the Blue Devils and a bright spot on an otherwise difficult night.

Ultimately, Stanford’s seven bonus-point victories were the deciding factor, providing the bulk of the 37 team points and producing a 25-point margin. Duke managed solid individual efforts but could not match the Cardinal’s run of tech falls, majors, and pins that determined the outcome.
