Northern Colorado Men's Wrestling knocked off California Baptist Men's Wrestling 20-12 at California Baptist University in Riverside, CA on January 13, 2024. The dual came down to bonus-point victories that Northern Colorado collected in two key bouts.

At 133 pounds, Dominick Serrano put up a 16-6 major decision over Hunter Leake, a four-team-point swing that gave Northern Colorado a meaningful cushion on the scoreboard. Serrano’s high-scoring performance was one of the match’s standout results and delivered more than a standard decision’s value.

The other pivotal result came at 285 pounds, where Xavier Doolin posted a 9-1 major decision over Chris Island, adding another four team points. Those two majors combined for eight of Northern Colorado’s 20 points and proved decisive in separating the teams in a contest that otherwise featured tighter lines.

With Serrano’s and Doolin’s bonus-point wins creating the margin, Northern Colorado closed out the dual 20-12. California Baptist was unable to overcome those extra team points, and the pair of major decisions ultimately decided the outcome in Riverside on January 13.
