Campbell @ Northern Colorado Recap
Northern Colorado knocked off Campbell 34-12 in Greeley, CO on December 19, 2025, using a string of bonus-point victories to pull away. The meet at the University of Northern Colorado ended with a 22-point margin in favor of the Big 12 program.
The turning factor was Northern Colorado’s three bonus wins. At 149 pounds Emilio Trujillo Dean dominated Jonathan Chang, finishing a 16-0 technical fall that earned five team points. Daishun Powe added a 17-8 major decision at 157 for four more points, and Murphy Menke followed with a 14-0 major decision at 174, another four team points. Those bonus results created the cushion Northern Colorado needed to control the dual.
Campbell fought back in the upper weights when Conor Maslanek delivered a big moment at 197, pinning Tyler Perry and collecting six team points for the SoCon squad. That fall was Campbell’s most decisive result, but it was not enough to overcome Northern Colorado’s collection of tech fall and major decisions.
Northern Colorado’s ability to convert dominant performances into extra-team points was the difference. Trujillo Dean’s technical fall and the two majors accounted for a sizable chunk of the Bears’ total, while Maslanek’s pin stood out for Campbell. The final 34-12 score reflected the importance of bonus scoring in a dual meet like this one.
