Penn State @ Wyoming Recap

Penn State routed Wyoming 40-7 in Laramie, WY on December 13, 2025, cruising to a 33-point victory in the dual meet. The Nittany Lions put the result out of reach with a string of bonus-point wins across the middle weights, leaving Wyoming chasing points the rest of the night.

A handful of dominant performances decided the dual. #2 Luke Lilledahl delivered an 18-3 technical fall at 125, and #1 Shayne Van Ness recorded a fall at 149, both supplying large chunks of Penn State’s score. Later in the lineup, #1 Levi Haines added another technical fall, and those bonus wins compressed Wyoming’s chances into a narrow window that never materialized.

Wyoming did have its moments, most notably at heavyweight where #13 Christian Carroll upset #9 Cole Mirasola 10-4 by decision to pick up three hard-fought team points. Aside from that result, the Cowboys were unable to match the frequency of Penn State’s bonus scoring and seldom threatened to cut into the lead.

In the end the middle-weight bonus spree was the difference. Penn State’s combination of pins and technical falls created a margin that Wyoming could not overcome, and the 40-7 final reflected a meet decided by a handful of decisive victories rather than a long string of close decisions.
