Michigan defeated Central Michigan 31-11 at the Bahna Wrestling Center in Ann Arbor on February 23, 2025. The Wolverines built a lead through a string of bonus-point wins that ultimately decided the dual, while Central Michigan’s biggest moment came at 133 pounds.

Sean Spidle gave Central Michigan a lift with a 15-0 technical fall over Nolan Wertanen at 133 for five team points, but Michigan responded with heavy scoring across multiple weights. Sergio Lemley posted a 26-11 technical fall at 141, Beau Mantanona secured a fall at 165 for six team points, and Jaden Bullock followed with a 17-2 technical fall at 184. That run of bonus results created a gap Central Michigan could not close.

Michigan continued to add insurance in the upperweights. Jacob Cardenas picked up a 12-3 major decision at 197 for four team points, and heavyweight Joshua Heindselman closed the scoring with a 22-6 technical fall over Bryan Caves. The Wolverines’ collection of majors, technical falls, and a fall provided the margin for the 31-11 final.

In the end Michigan’s bonus-point production was the deciding factor. Central Michigan earned a highlight in Spidle’s dominant tech fall, but Michigan’s multiple bonus victories across 141 through 285 piled up the points needed to secure the 20-point win.
