Bloomsburg @ Clarion Recap
Clarion picked up a convincing 36-6 dual meet victory over Bloomsburg at Clarion University in Clarion, PA on January 12, 2024. The Rams piled up bonus points in multiple matches, turning a competitive dual into a lopsided final score.
Several dominant efforts decided the meet. At 133 pounds TJ England rolled to an 18-2 technical fall over Major Lewis, good for five team points. Clarion kept the pressure at 157 as Alejandro Herrera-Rondon closed his bout with a 17-0 technical fall, another five-point swing that widened the gap. John Worthing delivered a 16-1 technical fall at 174, adding yet another five-team-point bonus and leaving Bloomsburg with little room to rally.
The clincher came at 184 where Cam Pine finished by fall, earning six team points and effectively sealing the outcome. Those four bonus-point wins supplied the bulk of Clarion’s scoring and represent the clear turning run in the dual; a string of tech falls and the pin prevented Bloomsburg from mounting a comeback.
Bloomsburg managed to score in other matches but could not overcome the string of bonus results from Clarion. Between the three technical falls and a pin, Clarion’s ability to convert dominant individual performances into team points was the decisive factor in the 36-6 final.
