Cornell @ Binghamton Recap

Cornell knocked off Binghamton 29-9 at Binghamton University on February 1, 2025. The Big Red piled up bonus points across several matches, and those extra-team points were the decisive factor in the dual.

The middle weights delivered the biggest damage. Meyer Shapiro ran up a 16-1 technical fall at 157, Simon Ruiz followed with a 16-0 technical fall at 174, and Chris Foca closed the stretch with a 16-1 technical fall at 184. Those three technical falls accounted for 15 team points and created a gap Binghamton could not close.

Cornell’s offense started earlier as well, with Marcello Milani downing Carson Wagner 10-2 by major decision at 125 and Josh Saunders beating Nate Lucier 13-1 by major decision at 141. Those two majors added another eight team points and, combined with the technical falls, turned a competitive dual into a comfortable margin for Cornell.

Binghamton had opportunities in the unbeaten scorebook but could not match Cornell’s bonus haul, and the Big Red closed things out 29-9. The five bonus-point victories were the key difference on the scoreboard in Binghamton on February 1.
