Virginia Tech topped Missouri 23-10 at Cassell Coliseum in Blacksburg, VA on November 15, 2024. The Hokies collected the bonus points they needed to separate the dual, while Missouri’s lone major kept the Tigers within reach but not close enough.

The deciding factor for Virginia Tech was two major decisions. At 149 pounds Caleb Henson beat Logan Gioffre 9-0 by major decision, and at 157 Rafael Hipolito Jr. downed J Conway 11-3 by major decision. Those two four-point victories gave Tech a significant scoring edge that the Tigers were unable to erase.

Missouri answered in the 174-pound bout when Keegan O’Toole recorded a 13-5 major decision over Lennox Wolak, producing four team points and a momentum swing for the Tigers. That performance trimmed the margin and kept Missouri competitive, but it was not enough to overcome Virginia Tech’s bonus-point cushion.

The match ultimately came down to those three bonus wins. Henson and Hipolito Jr. delivered the extra team points that decided the dual, and O’Toole’s major provided a strong individual performance for Missouri in a losing effort.
