Drexel @ Bucknell Recap
Drexel topped Bucknell 20-14 in Lewisburg, PA on January 24, 2025, in an EIWA dual at Bucknell University. The Dragons collected the bonus points they needed to edge out the Bison in a tight meet.
The most decisive individual result came at 125 pounds, where Desmond Pleasant scored a technical fall, beating Chris Nucifora 21-6 and delivering five team points. That bonus was a key chunk of Drexel’s total and forced Bucknell to chase the deficit as the dual progressed. Bucknell countered with two big bonus wins of its own: Noah Mulvaney at 165 earned a 12-3 major decision and Nolan Springer at 285 posted a 15-2 major decision, together worth eight team points and keeping the meet competitive.
Those three bonus bouts defined the scoring swing. Pleasant’s technical fall supplied crucial separation, while Mulvaney and Springer kept Bucknell within striking distance late. With neither side piling up pins, the margin boiled down to which team could secure the extra team points, and Drexel’s tech fall proved the difference.
The result leaves Drexel with a road victory over a conference foe and Bucknell with solid major decisions from Mulvaney and Springer to build on. The dual underlined how bonus-point bouts can determine close EIWA matchups.
