At 133 pounds, Kai Orine delivered the biggest single swing, pinning Tyler Ferrara to grant NC State six points. That fall supplied the kind of immediate, unambiguous impact that can change meet math, and combined with Trumble's technical fall it produced 11 of NC State's 20 team points.

With those bonus results separating the teams, the dual came down to narrow margins elsewhere on the card. NC State’s two high-value wins ultimately decided the outcome and left Cornell two points short in a close, competitive meet at Friedman.
