Oregon State @ Ohio State Recap
Ohio State Men's Wrestling rolled to a 40-3 victory over Oregon State Men's Wrestling at The Ohio State University in Columbus, OH on January 5, 2025. The Buckeyes piled up bonus points throughout the meet, turning what could have been a close dual into a decisive team win.
The match was tilted by a string of bonus-point finishes. Ryder Rogotzke's fall and Seth Shumate's fall each produced six team points and effectively closed the door on any Oregon State comeback. Jesse Mendez added a dominant technical fall, winning 17-2 and securing five more team points, while Nick Feldman capped the scoring with a 23-6 technical fall at heavyweight for another five bonus points.
Ohio State also picked up several major decisions that kept the pressure on Oregon State. Nic Bouzakis won 11-3 by major decision at 133 pounds, Dylan D'Emilio took a 18-5 major at 149, and Carson Kharchla posted a 14-4 major at 174. Those majors compounded the Buckeyes' advantage and helped build the insurmountable margin.
With multiple pins, technical falls, and majors, Ohio State accumulated the bonus points that decided the dual. The 37-point margin reflected a night in which the Buckeyes’ bonus-heavy results overwhelmed Oregon State and left little room for a response.
