Bellarmine edged Chattanooga 18-16 in a SoCon dual at Bellarmine University in Louisville on February 25, 2024. The meeting came down to bonus points, with two high-impact bouts separating the teams and ultimately deciding the outcome.

Chattanooga picked up a key bonus with Blake Boarman at 133 pounds. Boarman toppled Bellarmine’s Trayce Eckman 14-5 by major decision, putting four team points on the board and giving the Mocs a lift in a tight scoring environment.

Bellarmine answered with the decisive blow at 197 pounds when Andrew Liber pinned Ryan Stein. Liber’s fall delivered six team points and proved to be the turning point, swinging the dual in Bellarmine’s favor and making the difference in the final two-point margin.

With bonus-point victories accounting for ten of the dual’s team points, the afternoon emphasized finishing matches. Bellarmine’s pin proved to be the critical play, and Chattanooga’s major decision kept the match close, but the Knights finished on top 18-16.
