NC State @ Appalachian State

NC State edged Appalachian State 21-14 in Boone, North Carolina on November 30, 2025, in a dual that came down to bonus-point wrestling and a late rally by the Mountaineers.

The Wolfpack built a decisive cushion through three major decisions by ranked grapplers. #1 Vincent Robinson turned in a 10-2 major at 125 pounds, #8 Ryan Jack scored a 14-4 major at 141, and #9 Jackson Arrington added a 14-1 major at 157. Those bonus-point victories supplied the backbone of NC State’s team total and put App State on the defensive for much of the dual.

Appalachian State refused to go away, collecting two major decisions of their own to cut into the margin. Logan Eller dominated 197 pounds with a 12-0 major, and Stephan Monchery delivered a 17-3 major at 285. Those back-to-back bonus wins narrowed the gap and made the final sequence competitive, but they fell short of overturning the Wolfpack’s bonus-built lead.

In the end the difference was NC State’s trio of major decisions from ranked starters, which provided the extra points necessary to finish 21-14. Appalachian’s majors kept the scoreboard close and highlighted the fight in Boone, but NC State’s premium wins were enough to secure the dual victory.
