Brown @ Princeton

Princeton defeated Brown 36-7 at Jadwin Gymnasium in Princeton, NJ on February 2, 2025. The Tigers piled up bonus points across the lineup and built a gap Brown could not close, cruising to a 29-point win in the Ivy dual.

A string of bonus victories punctuated Princeton’s night. Marc-Anthony McGowan delivered a 19-4 technical fall at 125 pounds, and Ty Whalen matched that margin with a 19-4 technical fall at 149. Blaine Bergey added another tech with a 16-1 technical fall at 165. Those major and tech-fall wins supplied the bulk of Princeton’s scoring and left little room for a comeback.

Brown’s biggest moment came at 157 pounds, where Blake Saito upset Jacob Mann with a 12-0 major decision. That was Brown’s lone victory and its only bonus-point result, but it was not enough to counter Princeton’s multiple bonus wins. The Tigers also collected major decisions in the upper weights that helped close out the dual.

In the end the match was decided by Princeton’s ability to finish and accumulate bonus points across several weight classes. Brown showed fight in the middle weights, but Princeton’s string of tech falls and majors created a margin that held to the final whistle.
