Columbia @ Rider Recap
Rider Men's Wrestling held off Columbia 24-19 at Rider University in Lawrenceville, N.J. on December 21, 2025. The dual came down to bonus points, with Rider collecting two pins that proved decisive against Columbia’s pair of technical falls.
Tyler Klinsky (#22) delivered one of those game-changing moments, pinning Sulayman Bah at 125 for six team points. Later, Brendon Abdon (#31) added another major swing by upsetting Cesar Alvan (#23) with a fall at 165, again worth six points. Those two bonus-point victories gave Rider the cushion it needed in a tight match.
Columbia fought back with its own big scores. Evin Gursoy rolled to an 18-3 technical fall over Kaden Naame at 133 for five team points, and Aaron Ayzerov (#16) shut out Giovanni Alejandro 15-0 by technical fall for another five. Columbia’s bonus production kept the dual within reach, but Rider’s pins ultimately separated the teams.
A close matchup at 141 also swung toward Columbia when Lorenzo Frezza (#21) knocked off #15 Elijah Griffin, another notable result on the card. In the end the sum of bonus points decided the dual: Rider’s two falls offset Columbia’s tech falls and edged out a five-point victory, 24-19.
