Iowa State @ Missouri Recap
Iowa State edged Missouri 21-18 in Columbia on February 22, 2025, as the dual came down to bonus-point finishes and a handful of high-impact bouts. The Tigers collected two emphatic falls in the middle weights, but Iowa State’s lone pin and enough team points elsewhere carried the Cyclones to a three-point victory.
Missouri’s biggest moments came from Cam Steed at 165 and Keegan O’Toole at 174, each winning by fall and delivering six team points apiece. Those back-to-back bonus-point victories put Missouri in a strong position and supplied the momentum and scoring boost the home side needed to stay within reach late in the dual.
Iowa State answered with Garrett Grice’s fall at 133, a six-point swing that proved crucial in the final calculation. Grice’s pin was the difference-maker for the Cyclones; with bonus points scarce elsewhere, that single fall helped lift Iowa State past Missouri in a tightly contested matchup.
Ultimately the three falls accounted for 18 of the 39 combined team points and were the defining elements of the meet. With both teams trading big results in key weight classes, Iowa State’s ability to convert when it mattered allowed them to escape Columbia with a 21-18 road win on February 22.
