Brown @ Cornell Recap
Cornell rolled to a 47-0 dual meet victory over Brown on January 27, 2024 at the Friedman Wrestling Center in New York, NY. The Ivy rivals never got on the board as Cornell piled up bonus points across multiple weight classes.
The match featured a string of dominant technical falls in the middleweights. At 133 pounds Vito Arujau topped Hunter Adrian 19-4 by technical fall, and Ethan Fernandez followed with an 18-1 technical fall at 149 to keep the momentum firmly with the Big Red. Those decisive victories helped put the dual out of reach early on and opened room for heavier-weight finishes.
Cornell closed the gap into a rout with falls in the upper weights. Chris Foca recorded a pin at 184, and Lewis Fernandes sealed the shutout with a fall at heavyweight, combining with other bonus outcomes to make comeback attempts moot for Brown. The combination of tech falls and pins left little opportunity for Brown to respond.
The final margin reflected Cornell’s bonus-point barrage: the Big Red collected four technical falls and three pins en route to the 47-0 result. Individually outstanding performances from Arujau, Fernandez and the upperweights underscored why Cornell left Ithaca with a comprehensive road win.
