West Virginia @ Princeton Recap
West Virginia defeated Princeton 27-12 in a dual at Jadwin Gymnasium in Princeton, N.J., on January 4, 2025. The Mountaineers’ victory was built around a trio of bonus-point finishes that separated the teams on the scoreboard.
Peyton Hall’s 18-0 technical fall at 165 pounds was the first big blow, worth five team points and demonstrating decisive control. At 174 pounds Brody Conley added a 9-1 major decision, tacking on four more team points. The margin was put out of reach when Michael Wolfgram recorded a fall at 285 pounds, delivering six team points and the kind of result that swings a dual meet.
Those three bonus victories accounted for 15 team points, exactly matching West Virginia’s margin of victory. Princeton collected its share of decisions across the lineup and kept matches competitive, but the bonus differential proved insurmountable. West Virginia’s ability to convert big results into extra team points was the clear deciding factor in the dual.
