American @ Air Force Recap
Air Force picked up a 33-11 dual meet win over American on February 11, 2024 in Colorado. The Falcons turned a handful of bonus-point victories into a decisive margin, outscoring the Eagles by 22 team points.
American’s biggest moment came at 133 pounds when Raymond Lopez ran to a 25-9 technical fall, a five-point swing that flashed early. Air Force responded with a string of bonus wins that ultimately decided the dual. Garrett Kuchan racked up a 21-4 technical fall at 141, and Giano Petrucelli followed with a 19-2 technical fall at 165, putting serious pressure on American’s team score.
From there Air Force added majors and a pin to close things out. Noah Blake’s 11-2 major decision at 174 and Josh Cordio’s 14-4 major at 184 padded the Falcons’ advantage, and Wyatt Hendrickson sealed the team victory with a fall at heavyweight. Those bonus results were the difference, turning what could have been a closer meet into a comfortable win for the Falcons.
