North Dakota State @ Wisconsin Recap
Wisconsin Men’s Wrestling (Big Ten) beat North Dakota State (Big 12) 36-3 in Madison on November 1, 2025. The Badgers turned a competitive meet into a rout by piling up bonus points across several key matchups.
A running theme was Wisconsin’s ability to finish matches. Joseph Zargo, ranked #12 at 149 pounds, dominated Brayden Canoyer 17-1 by technical fall for five team points. At heavyweight, #16 Braxton Amos sealed a decisive bonus with a fall over Drew Blackburn-Forst, adding six points and effectively closing the dual. Nicolar Rivera, the #9 at 125 pounds, also delivered a major decision, beating #33 Ezekiel Witt 14-6 for four team points.
Wyatt Ingham’s 19-4 technical fall at 197 pounds added another five-team-point result, helping the Badgers extend their cushion. Those bonus victories — two tech falls, a major decision and a pin — accounted for the bulk of Wisconsin’s scoring and left North Dakota State with little room to respond.
Beyond the bonus production, the ranked wins mattered: Rivera’s major over a ranked opponent and Zargo’s dominant outing underscored Wisconsin’s upper-weight depth, while Amos’s pin provided the knockout blow. The accumulation of bonus points rather than a single turning match decided the dual, producing the final 36-3 margin in Madison.
