Utah Valley @ Oregon State Recap

Oregon State beat Utah Valley 25-9 in Corvallis, OR on Nov. 16, 2025, completing a dual that was decided by a string of bonus-point wins. The Beavers collected two major decisions and a technical fall that created separation on the scoreboard and left Utah Valley with limited scoring opportunities.

At 125 pounds Maximo Renteria, ranked #15 for Oregon State, scored an 11-1 major decision over #27 Bridger Ricks, a result that delivered four team points and underscored the match-up between ranked contenders. Keller Rock added another major decision at 165 pounds, winning 17-4 and tacking on four more team points with an emphatic performance. The most decisive individual result came at 174 pounds, where #23 Matthew Olguin closed with a 21-6 technical fall over Tanner Lofthouse, a five-point bonus that swung momentum firmly in Oregon State’s favor.

Those three bonus victories accounted for 13 of Oregon State’s 25 points and were the difference in the dual. Olguin’s technical fall in particular expanded the margin and effectively sealed the meet, turning what could have been a tight scoring affair into a comfortable 16-point win for the Beavers.

Oregon State’s ability to convert big wins when it mattered left Utah Valley unable to match the bonus production. The Beavers’ combination of ranked wrestlers and bonus outcomes provided the edge in Corvallis, handing them the 25-9 victory.
