CHARLESTON, S.C. — The Citadel defeated Davidson 20-15 on Feb. 15, 2026, at McAlister Field House.

The Bulldogs collected multiple bonus-point victories and late decisions that proved decisive. Marcus Wright turned a major decision into a multi-point swing with an 11-1 win at 133 pounds, combining three takedowns, an escape and a riding-time point. Jacob Silka added a 9-0 major decision at 174, and Adam Ortega’s third-period reversal, takedown and four-point nearfall helped The Citadel secure a 10-5 decision at 197.

Davidson stayed within reach through a series of late and overtime finishes. Marley Washington won 4-1 at 141 after a first-overtime takedown clinched the match. Anderson Heap forced overtime with No. 30 Carson DesRosier and then ended it with a 3-point overtime takedown to win 5-2 at 149. Tanner Peake rallied for a 3-point takedown with 23 seconds left to beat No. 31 Kyrel Leavell 5-4 at 157.

A second sudden-death overtime reversal produced one of the dual’s most consequential moments. Bryce Griffin scored a reversal in the second overtime to turn a 2-1 deficit into a 3-2 victory over No. 20 Thomas Snipes at 165, a sequence that preserved Davidson’s margin of closeness late in the dual.

The heavyweight match tightened the team score in the closing mat sessions. Roy Price III recorded a second-period takedown and a third-period escape to secure a 4-3 decision at 285, while DJ Spring II’s two second-period escapes kept the bout close.

Several contests included stalling warnings and late penalties that did not alter final scoring but influenced timing and positioning in the final minutes. Officials assessed stalling or caution entries in bouts at 133, 149, 157 and 285, among others.

The Citadel’s athletics site noted the home program completed a doubleheader sweep that afternoon, and Davidson’s season schedule reflects the loss on its record. The results leave The Citadel with momentum heading into the final week of the regular season while Davidson continues to chase conference wins.

Key individual performances for The Citadel included Wright’s major decision at 133, Silka’s major at 174 and Ortega’s four-point nearfall at 197. Davidson’s late scoring was led by Washington, Heap, Peake and Griffin, whose overtime and late-period scores prevented the dual from widening into a larger margin.

The dual meet at The Citadel produced several close, late-deciding matches and multiple overtime finishes, underscoring a narrow margin between the SoCon rivals in Charleston.
