North Dakota State @ Northern Iowa Recap
Northern Iowa edged North Dakota State 27-11 in Cedar Falls on November 23, 2025, thanks to a string of bonus-point victories that proved decisive. The Panthers piled up majors and a technical fall to create separation, while NDSU managed a couple of key results that kept the dual from getting out of hand.
One of the biggest moments came from Julian Farber, the #16, who beat Tristan Daugherty 12-1 by major decision for four team points. Ryder Downey, ranked #7, also delivered a major at 165 with an 18-4 win that added another four points. Wyatt Voelker, the #14 at heavyweight, closed the margin with a 20-5 technical fall for five points, and those bonus results supplied most of Northern Iowa’s scoring.
North Dakota State got a pair of meaningful outcomes. Ezekiel Witt pulled off an upset, as the #31 defeated #13 Trever Anderson 3-1 by decision, and Devin Wasley recorded a 15-0 technical fall at 197 for five team points. Those performances kept NDSU competitive on the score sheet, but they could not match UNI’s multiple bonus-point wins across several weight classes.
The turning point was Northern Iowa’s run of bonus decisions and the heavyweight tech fall, which turned a close match-up into a comfortable margin. Ranked wins and bonus scoring tilted the dual in UNI’s favor, producing the 16-point final difference and the road victory for Northern Iowa.
