Bucknell @ Navy Recap
Navy Men’s Wrestling topped Bucknell Men’s Wrestling 34-7 in Maryland on February 3, 2024, cruising to a 27-point victory in this EIWA dual. Navy’s collection of bonus-point wins proved decisive, turning what could have been a tight meet into a runaway score.
The key stretch came in the upper lightweight and middleweight bouts. At 141 pounds, Josh Koderhandt scored a 13-2 major decision over Dylan Chappell to deliver four team points. Navy then piled on with three falls: Charlie Evans pinned Aiden Davis at 157, Andrew Cerniglia found the pin at 165, and David Key closed that run with a fall at 184. Those bonus points carved out the margin and forced Bucknell to play catch-up.
Bucknell’s highlight was Logan Deacetis at 197, who answered with an 11-2 major decision over Daniel Williams to earn four team points and keep Bucknell on the board. That victory was Bucknell’s most significant result on the night and prevented Navy from sweeping every bout for bonus points.
In the end the combination of majors and pins for Navy made the difference, producing a decisive scoring run across several weight classes that Bucknell could not overcome. The 34-7 final reflected Navy’s ability to secure bonus points when it mattered most in this February 3 dual.
