Binghamton @ Brown Recap
Brown Men's Wrestling defeated Binghamton Men's Wrestling 18-18 at Brown University in Providence, R.I., on January 25, 2025. The scoreboard ended tied, but Brown walked away with the dual victory in a tight meet that came down to bonus points and one late decisive result.
Binghamton picked up big bonus work in three weight classes. Carson Wagner dominated at 125 pounds with a 17-3 major decision, Carter Baer added a 9-0 major at 165, and Brevin Cassella tacked on an 11-1 major at 174. Those three major decisions delivered four team points apiece and kept Binghamton firmly in contention through the lineup.
The decisive moment came at heavyweight, where Alex Semenenko pinned Charlie Tibbitts for Brown, earning six team points. That fall supplied the critical bonus that swung the scoring balance in Brown’s favor and separated the teams on the final sheet. Semenenko’s fall was the match’s most consequential individual result.
Overall this dual was determined by bonus-point wrestling rather than a string of narrow decisions. Binghamton’s triple majors were impressive and kept the contest close, but Semenenko’s pin at 285 ultimately proved the difference as Brown prevailed in Providence.
