Purdue Men’s Wrestling beat Northwestern Men’s Wrestling 31-13 at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana on January 10, 2025. The Boilermakers piled up bonus points in key bouts, and a late pin put the dual out of reach for the Wildcats.

Matt Ramos gave Purdue an early surge with a 20-4 technical fall at 125 pounds, picking up five team points. Northwestern answered in the middle with Maxx Mayfield’s 17-2 technical fall at 165, keeping the match competitive and earning five for the visitors. Purdue regained control when Brody Baumann delivered another technical fall at 174, 17-2, swinging additional bonus points back to the home team.

The dual was sealed at heavyweight when Hayden Filipovich pinned Dirk Morley, a six-point victory that capped Purdue’s bonus-point barrage and pushed the final margin to 18. Northwestern’s bonus wins in the middleweights provided resistance, but Purdue’s string of tech falls and the fall at 285 supplied the decisive scoring. Final score: Purdue 31, Northwestern 13.
