Lock Haven @ George Mason Recap
Lock Haven edged George Mason 19-17 in a back-and-forth dual at George Mason University on January 26, 2025. The two-point margin came down to bonus-point production, with Lock Haven leaving Fairfax with the narrow road victory.
The decisive work for Lock Haven came in the middle weights where Anthony Noto and Wyatt Henson each recorded technical falls. Noto dominated Geoffrey Whelan at 133 pounds, winning 21-5 by technical fall for five team points, and Henson followed with a 21-6 technical fall over Dominic Hargrove at 141 pounds for another five. Those bonus-point wins built the cushion Lock Haven needed to withstand George Mason’s response.
George Mason’s biggest answer came at 149 pounds, when Kaden Cassidy downed Lucas Kapusta 15-0 by technical fall, a five-point swing that pulled the Patriots right back into contention and made the finish tense. That big victory highlighted George Mason’s ability to answer punch for punch, but it ultimately wasn’t enough to overcome Lock Haven’s pair of techs.
With bonus points deciding the outcome, the dual boiled down to a few high-margin bouts rather than a string of decisions. Lock Haven’s two technical falls provided the margin of victory, and Cassidy’s 149-pound tech fall ensured the final minutes in Fairfax were competitive before the scoreboard settled at 19-17.
