DURHAM, N.C. — Cornell defeated Duke 42-4 at Duke University on Feb. 22, 2026, winning 10 of the 11 bouts in the dual.
Greg Diakomihalis opened the dual with a first-period technical fall, beating Spencer von Savoye 19-4 after a string of takedowns and a four-point nearfall produced the stoppage in Period 1.
Joe Sciarrone was awarded a forfeit at 133 pounds.
No. 6 Vince Cornella recorded a 15-0 technical fall at 141, building an 11-0 first-period lead with a takedown and two four-point near-falls before the match ended.
No. 2 Jaxon Joy pinned Dylan Ross at 149, finishing 11-0 after an early takedown, a first-period nearfall and a second-period escape and takedown that produced the fall.
No. 2 Meyer Shapiro used a first-period takedown and multiple near-fall sequences to stop Mikey Boulanger by technical fall, 17-2, at 157.
Benny Rogers posted a 15-0 technical fall at 165 with all 15 points scored in the opening period.
No. 2 Simon Ruiz beat Aidan Wallace 8-1 at 174 by decision, scoring a first-period 3-point takedown, a second-period reversal and a riding-time point that completed the margin.
Louie Cerchio won a 15-3 major decision at 184, scoring takedowns across all three periods and earning a riding-time point; David Hussey recorded escapes and was assessed stalling warnings and a late penalty in the third.
Carson Crace delivered a 2-0 decision at 197, with the only scoring coming on a third-period escape and an awarded riding-time point.
Duke’s lone victory came in the heavyweight bout as senior Connor Barket closed the dual with an 18-4 major decision over Cy Kruse IV; Barket entered the match No. 23 in the Feb. 16 rankings and piled up takedowns and bonus scoring to finish the match.
The combination of multiple technical falls, a pin, and bonus-point decisions produced the 38-point margin in Cornell’s favor. Duke honored seven seniors prior to the meet; the home-side release noted Duke fell to 6-13 overall and 0-6 in ACC duals while Cornell improved to 9-7 on the season.
