Wyoming @ Oklahoma Recap
Oklahoma Men's Wrestling beat Wyoming Men's Wrestling 27-6 at the University of Oklahoma in Norman, OK on November 23, 2024. The dual was decided by a pair of bonus-point victories that pushed the Sooners well ahead on the scoreboard and left Wyoming with little room to respond.
The biggest margin came at 174 pounds, where Gaven Sax dominated Brett McIntosh, winning 15-0 by technical fall and earning five team points. Sax’s tech fall was a shutout that supplied a crucial boost to Oklahoma’s team total and swung momentum emphatically in their favor.
At 141 pounds Mosha Schwartz added a 14-6 major decision over Cole Brooks for four more team points. Schwartz’s major widened the gap further and, combined with the tech fall, accounted for nine of Oklahoma’s 27 team points. Those two bonus wins proved the difference in a dual that otherwise featured more conventional decisions.
With those bonus points in hand Oklahoma closed the meet out comfortably, finishing with a 21-point margin. Wyoming was unable to produce a bonus response, and Oklahoma’s late burst of bonus-scoring secured the decisive advantage in Norman.
