BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Lehigh defeated Navy 20-15 on Jan. 17, 2026, as No. 7 Nathan Taylor’s sudden‑victory takedown at 285 provided the deciding points.
Lehigh, ranked No. 20 entering the dual, opened with three straight decisions to build a 9-0 lead. No. 4 Sheldon Seymour scored a 3-point takedown in the first period and added a penalty point in the second en route to a 5-2 decision at 125. No. 3 Ryan Crookham followed with a 7-3 decision at 133, and No. 5 Luke Stanich used a late third-period escape and takedown to complete an 8-4 win at 141.
Navy narrowed the gap in the middle sessions. Kaemen Smith won a 6-2 decision at 149 and No. 24 Jonathan Ley posted an 11-2 major decision at 157, trimming the deficit to 9-7 at intermission. Lehigh answered when No. 10 Max Brignola recorded a 22-6 technical fall at 165, scoring across all three periods to push the Mountain Hawks ahead.
Navy responded again when No. 9 Danny Wask finished an 18-2 technical fall at 174 for five bonus points, drawing the Midshipmen within two. Lehigh’s No. 18 Rylan Rogers then won 4-1 at 184 to make it 17-12 heading into the final two bouts.
At 197, Navy’s Zyan Hall defeated No. 22 Jt Davis, 2-1, in sudden‑death overtime; a penalty in the second tiebreaker produced the deciding point and cut Lehigh’s lead to 17-15.
The dual came down to heavyweight. Taylor tied the match with an escape late in the third period to force sudden victory. In overtime a stalling call on Spencer Lanosga preceded Taylor’s 3-point takedown, producing the 4-1 overtime decision that sealed the 20-15 team result.
The meet featured three bonus outcomes that swung team points — Brignola’s technical fall for Lehigh and Ley’s major decision and Wask’s technical fall for Navy — and a late heavyweight finish that decided the dual. Lehigh improved to 6-6 overall and 2-0 in EIWA duals; Navy fell to 2-4 and 1-1 in conference play.
The dual was held at Leeman-Turner Arena at Grace Hall in Bethlehem.
