Buffalo @ Central Michigan Recap

Central Michigan picked up a convincing 28-6 dual meet win over Buffalo on February 11, 2024, at Central Michigan University in Mt. Pleasant. The Chippewas piled up bonus points at key weights and kept Buffalo's offense largely in check en route to a 22-point victory.

The match swung on three bonus victories. At 125 pounds Sean Spidle turned in a 14-3 major decision over Max Elton, earning four team points. Tyler Swiderski followed with another major, topping Hunter Shaut 14-4 for four more bonus points. The clincher came at heavyweight, where Bryan Caves closed the night with a 16-1 technical fall over Lonnell Pabon, a five-point win that effectively sealed the dual. Those three bouts alone supplied the margin Central Michigan needed.

Buffalo managed just six team points while Central Michigan’s bonus-heavy night created separation when it mattered. Spidle, Swiderski and Caves were the clear difference-makers, combining dominant individual performances with the extra-team scoring that decides duals. The result left Central Michigan with a solid home win and Buffalo searching for answers after a difficult afternoon in Mt. Pleasant.
