Northern Colorado @ Drexel

Northern Colorado walked out of Drexel University with a 29-16 dual victory over Drexel on November 15, 2024 in Philadelphia. The Pioneers accumulated enough bonus points across key matchups to build a gap Drexel could not overcome.

Northern Colorado’s offense was fueled by bonus-point finishes. Andrew Alirez’s 22-5 technical fall at 141 pounds and Vinny Zerban’s 19-4 technical fall at 157 combined for ten team points and swung momentum toward the visitors. Remington Peterson’s fall at heavyweight added six more team points and effectively sealed the outcome for Northern Colorado. Dominick Serrano’s 15-7 major decision at 133 also helped pad the lead with an extra bonus.

Drexel answered with its own high-impact results. Dom Findora picked up a major decision, 14-2, at 149 to keep the Dragons in contention, and Jack Janda’s pin at 174 provided the biggest swing for Drexel, worth six team points and a burst of energy for the crowd. Those results trimmed the margin but came after Northern Colorado’s sequence of bonus wins had created a cushion.

In the end Northern Colorado’s string of bonus-point victories proved decisive. Drexel showed fight with a pair of bonus wins of its own, but the Pioneers’ technical falls and a late pin delivered the extra points necessary to close out the 29-16 road win.
