Bucknell vs. Wisconsin Recap

Wisconsin Men's Wrestling edged Bucknell Men's Wrestling 19-16 on November 25, 2025. The dual came down to bonus-point production, with three major wins and a technical fall turning a tight meet into a narrow Badger victory.

The biggest blow came from the middle weights: Zan Fugitt, ranked No. 4 at 133 pounds, dominated Ty Kapusta 13-1 for a major decision, and Joseph Zargo, No. 15 at 149, closed out a 22-6 technical fall. Those two bonus wins supplied nine team points and gave Wisconsin a cushion Bucknell had to chase for most of the dual.

Bucknell answered in the upper mids when Myles Takats, ranked No. 22, handled Wisconsin’s Luke Condon (No. 31) 14-3 by major decision. That four-point swing kept Bucknell within striking distance and was the most decisive performance for the Bison on the day, but it ultimately wasn’t enough to overcome Wisconsin’s bonus scoring.

At heavyweight Braxton Amos, No. 18, added another major decision, 11-2 over Lucas Lawler (No. 27), which helped close out the 19-16 final. In the end Wisconsin’s three bonus-point victories were the decisive factor; without those majors and the technical fall the meet would likely have swung the other way.
