Indiana @ Michigan Recap
Michigan held off Indiana 22-13 at the Bahna Wrestling Center in Ann Arbor on January 26, 2025. The dual featured multiple bonus-point results that shaped the scoreboard, and Michigan’s depth ultimately carried them to a nine-point victory.
Indiana produced two dominant technical falls that swung bonus points their way: Jacob Moran topped Wilfried Tanefeu 17-2 by technical fall for five team points, and Angelo Rini scored an 18-3 technical fall over Teddy Flores worth another five. Those performances put Indiana firmly in the mix and supplied the Hoosiers with their most decisive moments of the night.
Michigan answered with a key bonus victory of its own when Sergio Lemley earned a 15-2 major decision over Henry Porter, a four-point swing that proved decisive in the final tally. That major, combined with Michigan’s collection of decision wins in the other matches, allowed the Wolverines to absorb Indiana’s tech falls and finish with enough points to seal the dual. In a meet defined by bonus scoring, Lemley’s major was the turning point that tipped the balance back to Michigan.
