The decisive moments came in three falls that accounted for half of Brown’s team total. At 141 pounds Ian Oswalt pinned Jameson Garcia for a six-point swing, and Connor O'Donnell followed with a fall at 184 over Luke Rada, also worth six points. Alex Semenenko closed the scoring with a fall at heavyweight, downing Jeffrey Crooks and adding another six-team-point bonus. Those three pins alone contributed 18 points and swung the scoreboard emphatically in Brown’s favor.

That string of bonus-point victories was the clear turning point. Once Brown started racking up falls, Harvard was unable to mount a comeback, and Brown’s cushion allowed them to cruise to a 30-point margin. The dual was decided by Brown’s knack for finishing matches on the mat; beyond the falls, Harvard managed only six points, and Brown’s bonus scoring was the difference.
