Appalachian State @ Duke

Appalachian State defeated Duke 31-8 at Duke University in Durham, NC on December 17, 2025 in a dual meet that was decided by bonus-point wrestling.

Appalachian State piled up bonus points early and often. Cooper Foster dominated at 125 pounds, scoring a 17-2 technical fall for five team points, and Jarvis Little sealed another big swing at 133 with a fall that earned six team points. Those bonus victories built a cushion Appalachian could protect through the rest of the lineup.

Duke’s highlight came at 174, where #23 Aidan Wallace scored a 19-1 technical fall over Colt Campbell to deliver five important points for the Blue Devils and pick up a ranked victory. Still, Appalachian answered in kind at 184 when Tomas Brooker recorded an 18-3 technical fall, another five-point bonus that restored and extended the Mountaineers’ control of the scoreboard. That sequence of bonus results left Duke with little momentum to overcome.

In the end the three Appalachian bonus wins combined with Brooker’s clinching tech fall were the difference, leaving Duke with just eight team points. The 31-8 final reflected a dual decided by pins and technical falls rather than a string of close decisions.
