SIU Edwardsville vs. Duke Recap
SIU Edwardsville topped Duke 36-7 in the dual on December 21, 2025, handing the ACC squad a lopsided loss. Location was not provided. The margin was built almost entirely on bonus-point wrestling, as SIUE collected multiple tech falls and major decisions to separate the teams.
A number of dominant performances keyed the result. Drew Davis rolled to a 15-0 technical fall at 125 pounds, and Marcel Lopez, ranked #32, followed with a 17-1 technical fall at 133. At 149, #10 Caleb Tyus put together a 14-2 major decision, and Brock Woodcock closed out a stretch with an 18-0 technical fall at 165. Those four bonus victories supplied the bulk of SIUE’s scoring and left Duke struggling to keep pace.
Duke’s primary bright spot came at heavyweight, where #25 Connor Barket earned a 12-1 major decision over Bryson Buhk to pick up the Blue Devils’ only bonus points. Outside of that result, Duke’s scoring was limited to decisions, and the Cavaliers were unable to break SIUE’s run of bonus outcomes.
The deciding factor was SIUE’s string of bonus-point wins in key matchups. Back-to-back tech falls and a pair of majors produced a scoring run that made a comeback impractical for Duke, and the depth of bonus production carried SIU Edwardsville to a convincing 36-7 victory.
