Purdue @ Ohio State Recap
Ohio State men's wrestling topped Purdue 34-10 at The Ohio State University in Columbus on January 19, 2025. The Buckeyes piled up bonus points en route to a comfortable Big Ten dual meet win.
Nic Bouzakis supplied an early major decision at 133 pounds, but the decisive stretch came in the middle weights. Dylan D'Emilio, Paddy Gallagher and Carson Kharchla all recorded falls, a trio of pins that accounted for 18 team points and swung the dual solidly in Ohio State's favor. Those three bonus victories erased any doubt about the outcome and left Purdue scrambling to keep pace.
Ohio State added more bonus scoring later, including a technical fall at heavyweight that effectively closed out the matchup. Purdue did answer with a major decision at 197, their most significant result of the night, but it was not enough to counter the Buckeyes' string of bonus-point wins.
In the end the depth and bonus production made the difference, giving Ohio State a 34-10 victory and a clear Big Ten result to build on. Purdue showed fight in spots, but Ohio State’s ability to finish matches proved decisive.
