Lock Haven @ Navy Recap
Navy beat Lock Haven 33-9 in Maryland on February 2, 2024, as the Midshipmen piled up bonus points to separate themselves in the dual. The final margin reflected a mix of pins and major decisions that Lock Haven could not overcome.
Charlie Evans provided a signature win at 157 pounds, cruising to a 12-1 major decision over Connor Eck, and Andrew Cerniglia added another major at 165 with a 9-1 score against Eric Alderfer. Those two majors in the middle weights supplied a heavy dose of team points and proved pivotal in building a lead that Lock Haven never recovered from.
At the ends of the lineup Navy collected match-ending wins that sealed the outcome. Josh Koderhandt recorded a fall over Wyatt Henson at 141 pounds, and heavyweight Grady Griess closed things out with a pin of John Miller at 285. The two falls, combined with the middleweight majors, produced the bonus-point cushion that decided the dual.
Navy’s mix of bonus victories and decisive margins across key matchups left Lock Haven with limited opportunities to chip away at the deficit, and the Midshipmen closed the meet with a 24-point team victory.
