Chattanooga @ Oklahoma Recap

Oklahoma beat Chattanooga 26-14 at the University of Oklahoma in Norman on December 21, 2024. The Sooners piled up bonus points en route to the win while Chattanooga answered with a pair of big majors that kept the dual competitive.

Mosha Schwartz’s 18-3 technical fall was one of Oklahoma’s biggest swings, yielding five team points and putting pressure on the Mocs. Tate Picklo’s fall over Jackson Hurst was even more decisive, a six-point scoring play that helped swing the margin firmly in Oklahoma’s favor. Those two bonus victories supplied the bulk of the Sooners’ margin.

Chattanooga fought back through Blake Boarman’s 15-3 major decision over Beric Jordan, a four-point result that kept the Mocs within striking distance. Sergio Desiante also delivered a major, beating Mannix Morgan 13-2 to add meaningful bonus points for Chattanooga, but the combined effect of Oklahoma’s tech fall and pin was too much to overcome.

In the end Oklahoma’s accumulation of bonus-point wins made the difference. While Chattanooga generated highlight results of its own, Oklahoma’s big-scoring bouts created a gap the Mocs could not erase, producing the 26-14 final.
