Missouri blanks Northern Colorado 42-0

The Tigers collected seven bonus-point wins, including technical falls from two ranked wrestlers, to complete the shutout in Columbia, Mo.

COLUMBIA, Mo., Jan. 26, 2026 — Missouri blanked Northern Colorado 42-0 at the University of Missouri, piling up seven bonus-point victories that eliminated any chance of a Northern Colorado comeback.

A string of technical falls and major decisions provided the decisive swing. No. 16 Mack Mauger opened the dual with a 19-4 technical fall at 125 pounds, finishing the bout after a second-period takedown; Missouri added a major decision at 133 and another major at 149 to widen the margin early.

Missouri’s ranked stars supplied several of the bonus wins. No. 3 Aeoden Sinclair recorded a 22-6 technical fall at 184 pounds, and No. 9 Evan Bates matched that result with a 22-6 technical fall at 197. Both bouts featured repeated takedowns across periods that produced the technical-fall margins.

Other notable victories included No. 23 J. Conway’s 19-4 technical fall at 165, No. 16 Teague Travis’ 9-2 decision at 157 and Jarrett Stoner’s 20-5 technical fall at 285. No. 18 Josh Edmond closed the first half with a 15-5 major decision at 149.

The combination of early bonus scoring and later technical falls turned individual dominance into an insurmountable team margin. Missouri’s seven bonus-point results accounted for the majority of its 42 points and left Northern Colorado scoreless in all ten contested bouts.

The win coincided with a milestone for the program. Missouri head coach Brian Smith recorded his 350th career dual victory with the shutout. Missouri’s athletics communications noted the Tigers moved to 9-7 overall and 3-2 in Big 12 play; Northern Colorado fell to 2-6 and 1-2 in conference results.

Missouri’s depth across the lineup — with bonus scoring coming from both ranked and unranked positions — produced the final margin and preserved the shutout in Columbia.
