Edinboro @ Central Michigan Recap
Central Michigan topped Edinboro 44-0 in a dominant dual at Central Michigan University on January 21, 2024. The Chippewas rolled up the scoreboard with a string of bonus-point wins that left Edinboro scoreless by the final whistle.
The dual was decided by a cluster of bonus victories. Sean Spidle delivered a 17-1 technical fall at 125 pounds for five team points, and Johnny Lovett matched that with an 18-3 technical fall at 157 for another five. Two falls provided the biggest swings: Jimmy Nugent pinned Jacob Brenneman at 141 and Corbyn Munson pinned Colin Roberts at 149, each earning six team points and effectively putting the match out of reach.
Central Michigan didn’t let up after that run. Those four bonus results, combined with solid wins across the lineup, built the 44-point margin that kept Edinboro from finding any traction. The four matches highlighted the depth and finishing ability on Central Michigan’s roster, with tech falls and pins turning close moments into decisive team points.
Edinboro was unable to register a victory, and Central Michigan’s collection of major offensive outcomes carried the day. The shutout score reflects a comprehensive performance in Mt. Pleasant on January 21.
