Cornell @ Harvard Recap
Cornell knocked off Harvard 39-3 at Harvard University on January 25, 2025, cruising to a 36-point victory in the Ivy dual. The difference was emphatic: a string of bonus-point results from Cornell’s lineup turned what might have been a close meet into a rout.
The middleweights were decisive. Meyer Shapiro dominated Jimmy Harrington 18-3 for a technical fall, Simon Ruiz closed out Haden Bottiglieri with a 17-1 technical fall, and Julian Ramirez finished Cael Berg by fall. Those three bonus outcomes produced the kind of scoring swing that put the dual out of reach for Harvard.
Cornell also sealed matters on the edges of the lineup. At heavyweight Ashton Davis posted an 11-2 major decision over Jeffrey Crooks to add more bonus points and round out the team’s performance. Taken together, Cornell’s majors, tech falls, and a fall left little room for a Harvard comeback.
Harvard’s lone points came in a hard-fought match, but Cornell’s depth and its cluster of bonus wins across key weight classes determined the meet. The big margins in the middle and a finishing major at 285 made this an efficient road victory for Cornell in Boston.
