Missouri @ Iowa State Recap
Iowa State Men's Wrestling rolled past Missouri Men's Wrestling 41-3 in Ames, IA on February 25, 2024, earning a lopsided Big 12 dual at Iowa State University. The Cyclones piled up bonus points throughout the lineup, turning a competitive meet into a one-sided score early on.
Evan Frost was one of the catalysts, stopping Drew Stanfield by technical fall, 19-3, to deliver five team points and put pressure on Missouri. Casey Swiderski added another big result with a 20-4 technical fall over Zeke Seltzer, contributing another five-team-point burst that widened the gap.
The knockout blows came with falls in the upper mids. David Carr pinned Jeremy Jakowitsch for six team points, and MJ Gaitan followed with his own fall over Ellis Pfleger, also worth six points. Those back-to-back bonus wins effectively sealed the dual, swinging the scoreboard heavily in Iowa State’s favor.
Missouri managed very little offense against a Cyclone squad that repeatedly converted bonus opportunities into team points. Ultimately Iowa State’s string of technical falls and pins created an insurmountable margin, leaving the final at 41-3.
