Virginia @ Michigan Recap
Michigan topped Virginia 41-3 at the Bahna Wrestling Center in Ann Arbor, MI on November 23, 2025. The Wolverines piled up bonus points to turn what might have been a competitive dual into a lopsided final score.
Michigan’s margin came largely from bonus-point wins. Lachlan McNeil, ranked #3, pinned Virginia’s #29 Wynton Denkins at 149 for six team points. Beau Mantanona, a #11, added another fall at 174, and Taye Ghadiali, a top-five heavyweight at #5, closed his match with a pin at 285. Between those falls, Brock Mantanona, ranked #7 at 184, produced a technical fall, winning 21-6 and collecting five team points.
That stretch of bonus victories across the card created the decisive scoring run. The combination of multiple pins and a tech fall not only built a large lead but kept Virginia from mounting any sustained comeback opportunities, making the remainder of the dual largely academic.
Overall, Michigan’s ranked wrestlers delivered the biggest moments, and the team’s ability to convert chances into bonus points was the clear difference in the meeting.
