Cornell Men's Wrestling beat Arizona State Men's Wrestling 25-12 in Tempe, Arizona on February 15, 2025. The road win came down to a string of bonus-point performances that separated the Ivy visitors from the Pac-12/B12 squad.

The decisive contributions were emphatic. At 149 pounds Ethan Fernandez recorded a 20-4 technical fall for five team points. Julian Ramirez supplied the biggest swing with a fall at 165 pounds, worth six team points. Simon Ruiz added another dominant result at 174, posting a 15-0 technical fall for five team points. Those three bouts accounted for 16 of Cornell’s 25 points.

That stretch of bonus scoring was the turning point. The combination of two technical falls and a pin created a gap Arizona State could not erase over the remaining matches. Cornell’s ability to secure bonus points rather than narrow decisions proved to be the difference in the dual.

Arizona State finished with 12 team points, but the margin created by Cornell’s bonus victories left little room for a comeback. Cornell leaves Tempe with a 25-12 victory on February 15.
