Princeton @ Brown Recap
Princeton defeated Brown 34-13 at Brown University in Providence, R.I. on February 4, 2024. The Tigers collected enough bonus points across the board to build a decisive margin and leave Providence with a comfortable road victory.
What decided the dual was the number of bonus-point wins for Princeton. Drew Heethuis recorded a fall over Michael Joyce, and Eligh Rivera turned in a 20-3 technical fall over Sam McMonagle, each supplying big-team points. Luke Stout also finished with a fall against Nick Olivieri, and Matthew Cover added a 9-0 major decision at heavyweight to keep Princeton’s advantage secure.
Brown fought back in spots, most notably Jonathan Conrad’s pin of Nathan Stefanik, which kept the Bears within reach on the scoreboard. Blake Saito’s 11-1 major decision was another strong result for Brown, but the Tigers’ collection of pins, a tech fall, and majors produced the gap that Brown could not overcome.
In the end Princeton’s bonus-point production made the difference in a 34-13 final. Individual bursts of scoring from the Tigers across multiple matches were the key factor in deciding the dual at Brown on February 4.
