Cornell @ Columbia Recap

Cornell blanked Columbia 40-0 in a one-sided Ivy League dual at Columbia, New York, on February 2, 2025. The Big Red piled up bonus points across the lineup and never allowed Columbia to get on the board.

The margin built quickly thanks to a handful of dominant performances. At 133 pounds Ethan Qureshi put the day out of reach with a 19-3 technical fall, picking up five team points and forcing Columbia to chase from behind. Meyer Shapiro followed with another technical fall at 157, cutting a 16-0 route that kept Cornell’s momentum rolling.

The match turned unambiguously into a shutout when Michael Dellagatta recorded a fall at 197, adding six crucial team points and effectively putting the result beyond doubt. Cornell also picked up major decisions in other key spots, including Ashton Davis’ 9-1 major decision at heavyweight, which helped widen the gap in the late going.

Columbia couldn’t answer the barrage of bonus-point finishes. Between the tech falls, majors, and Dellagatta’s pin, Cornell’s depth and aggression produced a comprehensive team victory and a clean 40-0 shutout on the road.
