Buffalo @ Binghamton Recap
Binghamton Men’s Wrestling beat Buffalo Men’s Wrestling 26-7 at Binghamton University on January 8, 2026. The dual was decided by a pair of bonus-point outcomes that swung momentum and the team score in opposite directions, but Binghamton’s big win at 157 pounds proved decisive.
At 157 pounds, Fin Nadeau delivered a dominant 15-0 technical fall, earning Binghamton five team points and a sizable cushion in the team race. That technical fall was the clearest turning point of the night, pushing Binghamton well ahead on the scoreboard and forcing Buffalo to chase points the rest of the way.
Buffalo’s highlight came at 149 pounds, where Sam Ewing downed Caleb Sweet 9-1 by major decision for four team points. Ewing’s major kept Buffalo within reach temporarily, but the extra-point swing from Nadeau’s technical fall and other Binghamton victories left Buffalo unable to mount a comeback.
Only a couple of high-impact bouts determined the outcome: Nadeau’s technical fall and Ewing’s major decision. Those bonus-point results separated the teams and produced the 19-point margin in Binghamton’s favor.
